Centrally heated or air conditions are best for the asthmatics. Dust can be effectively removed with vacuum cleaners from carpets. Some of the vacuum cleaners are effective enough to remove dust particles from the atmosphere as well.

There are cases reported when the asthma alleviates itself as the children reaches maturity. These patients can end up having sinus infections as asthma allergy changes its form.

For many people asthma is continued all their lives. There are medications available that may not act as a cure, but can be fairly helpful.

Pollens in the outdoor atmosphere can be fatal for asthma patients. Medicines are available to prevent the allergic reaction. These medications are good those having mild allergic reactions. Smoke can also trigger an asthma attack. Asthmatics should avoid smoking and being around those who smoke.

Cleaning products used in the homes needs to be unscented. Mothballs and room deodorizes should be avoided. All these things can result in chronic respiratory illnesses.

This way a person can exercise to maintain a good lifestyle.

Types of Medication Available

There are two kinds of medication: the quick relief medications and controller medications. Quick relief relieves the symptoms for short term.  They help release a patient from difficulty in breathing, wheezing and chest congestion. They can also help fight the exercise induced asthma.

Controller medicines work in the long run. They are taken on daily basis. They can prevent asthmatic attacks and day to day incidences. Inhaled steroids, bronchodilators, methylxanthines etc are all controller medicines.
